The preliminary Top 10 listings for the 2011 short-course yards season, which ran 6/1/10 - 5/31/11, are now available. Please check for inaccuracies and email Mary Beth Windrath, the National Swims Administrator, with potential corrections BY JULY 30. You can also email me or send me a PM.
Pete,
It could be that the swim was done leading off a relay or other split request. I don't believe they show up in the meet results database. Of course I could be wrong.
RichThanks Rich. I'd seen my own split requests show up in my individual "meet results" query, so that is what confused me. But it sounds like how the time it entered dictates if it shows up or not.
Please note the disclaimer in bold on the Event Rankings page that states all times are Unofficial. What that means is just because a time is in the database doesn't mean it is eligible for TT. And similarly, all times in TT need not be in the database. Some day in the future in a land far, far away, the database will be official and TT will get pulled directly from the rankings database. But not all meets are automated so as of now the Event Rankings database should be treated as FYI only.I figured that about the Event Rankings, but didn't know the same was true regarding the individual "meet results" for a given swimmer, since my split requests always seem to make it into my "meet results" list. From what I gather you are entering the times that have shown up as "individual swims" rather than a "split request" or something along those lines.
Rich is correct. I think I see what swimmer you are asking about, Speedo, and that 50 free time was done as a lead-off split in the mixed 200 free relay at nationals. Search that swimmer's name in the searchable results from that meet at www.usms.org/.../meetsearch.php and you will see the split in the relay.
We do have a new feature in the meet results database tools where a top 10 recorder uploading a meet can designate any lead-off split as an individual swim now, but this capability was added late in the SCY season this year, so very few split requests are currently in the meet results database. It also currently doesn't let you do a one-click addition of ALL relay lead-off splits in the meet (if observed by the officials as they are at nationals). That's on the to-do list, but until it is ready it is impractical to manually add each of the lead-off splits to the database for a large meet with hundreds of relays like nationals.Yes, that's it. You guys have your hands full with entering results. And since I don't know the ins and outs, I hope this wasn't taken as a WTF question- I just don't know what's linked and what's not and was curious :)
