I'm a board member for our swim club.
Last nite there was mention of a complaint from a senior high school swimmer who was uncomfortable with using a locker room with the adult master swimmers. We practice at the same time a few days out of the week.
This became an bigger issue last nite because we have a desire to run USA swimming at the same time as a few masters sessions in the evening and our coach voiced concern about everyone using the locker room at the same time and kids being uncomfortable.
Does your club run practices at the same time?
Have you run into issues like this?
How did you handle/manage locker room time?
I think this is one of the best posts here, and I think the list at the bottom could be posted in almost every locker room.
I swim with a masters team at the same time that kids groups swim, and many days we share the locker room. I'll wrap a towel around me whenever I can. To the poster who said to just wash, "down there," at another time...many of us go straight from swimming to work. In the average week I may shower at home just once or twice.
If a swimming locker room raises complaints, I'd hate to see what this kid does when he goes to a real gym locker room. My gym is 18+ (16 w a parent), and some people just get crazy with walking around naked in the locker room. As others have said, I do what I need to do and get out of there.

Have you run into issues like this?
not that I know of
How did you handle/manage locker room time?
WARNING: there are naked people in locker rooms
most older swimmers walk around in the buff care free while
most younger swimmers and some masters (who might have had prudish moms or modesty issues, just a theory)
wrap a towel around their waist when they put on their suits or take them off
Inappropriate Locker room Behavior's are:
1) Touching, (others or self)
2) Shooting pictures or video, (don't take out your cell phones)
3) Standing too close,
4) Staring, and
5) inappropriate conversation (direct or indirect)
The masters tend to talk with their friends and ignore age group swimmers and vice versa.
If kids are really modest they can change in a stall.
Plus we can all choose to look the other way.
