Florida, in summertime, doesn't rock my boat.
But you live in Georgia? I lived in Florida for five years -- and in college I spent two other summers lifeguarding in Tampa -- and I didn't find the summers any worse than most other places on the east coast, it just starts earlier and lasts longer. The most miserable summer (weather- and traffic-wise) I ever spent was in DC, not Florida.
I like Sarasota, and there are a heck of a lot worse places to be in June. Some of my first and still-favorite masters meets were outdoors in nearby St Pete; in fact, I met my wife at one of those meets. I don't know if I can spend a whole week next year on Pan Ams after doing so this summer for Words, but the weather is certainly not going to keep me away.
