OK, it may be over a year away but why not start a thread on 2011 Short Course (Spring) Nationals? This meet will be held at the newly-renovated Kino Aquatics Center in Mesa, which is just east of Phoenix. So go ahead and pipe in, I'm sure we will get some good conversation flowing.
Sigh...I don't have scroll down as much as I used to...stupid aging process!
My Dad had the best line ever a couple years ago. He said he went behind the blocks to get ready for his race and when he looked around he thought to himself, "what are all of these old guys doing in my heat?"
Not too late to sign up for open water (preferably 4000 meters) on Saturday you light weights (and a great opportunity to ruin your 200 Free later that day and all other events on Sunday):)

Kind of feel bad as I think the organizer picked this weekend based on affiliated swim with nationals. The event has become soley USMS sanctioned (no triathlon sanctioning except for under 18), then USMS not only takes all local swimmers, but barely promotes it.
Definitely the prettiest venue of the series and kids 14 and under are FREE (except I think one day tri license--5 dollars for kids).

You're right about that lack of participants...
As of 4/24:
The 1000 M swim has 11 participants, the 2000M has 39, and the 4000M has 19 people. There are 5 14 & unders registered too. :applaud:

I'd also said before, though, that having it Saturday during Nationals was a bad idea. Monday might have drawn more attendees from USMS, I think??
To everyone competing this weekend:
Have fun and swim fast!!!!! I will miss hanging out with all the wonderful folks of USMS.
See you in Greensboro!!!

For all of you whom I'd love an opportunity to meet: I'll be there all 4 days probably wearing an orange shirt (Team LIB represent!) - also if I know you're swimming - I promise you'll hear me on deck :D If nothing else - look for the cheap aviators and a 6'3 frame making a lot of noise.
