Counters for distance events

Hello! I've never competed at a Master's Nationals, and I was wondering if swimmers are expected to provide their own counters? Kristi

I'll count for you if you'll count for me (if we're not in the same heat, of course). I'll be swimming both the 1,000 and 1,650.
