Nationals and Coronavirus.

Austin just canceled SXSW. Is it safe to think Nationals will go on as planned. Is it safe to do so. I really want to go to Nationals, but I am 71 and concerned.

  • The issue surrounding COVID-19 is a big one with my wife and I. A little background. We had the flu shot and then proceeded to catch a different flu 3 times from early November 2019 to late February 2020. This has never happened to either of us before. My wife still has not completely recovered and has not been in the pool for almost 4 weeks. She is a little over a year removed from *** cancer surgery and radiation and still has not regained the strength that she had before the diagnosis. We are both over 61 years of age and retired. We both had careers in the health field, me an REHS, her an RN. My last swim workout was Monday and I am still tired. Now add the situation of COVID-19. We have already cancelled a hotel reservation for later this month and will not be entering any swim meets or clinics that we had planned on going to. I have already skipped 2 swim meets. Since our state and county declared a state emergency due to COVID-19, we both know that things are going will soon be different. We both understand epidemiology very well and have worn and used PPE. We just do not know enough about COVID-19 to make better decisions other than to just stay put and wait it out. We would like to get back in the pool with our teammates, and workout at the fitness center.
