I want to devote 1-2 days a week doing kick-only main sets, to try and improve my kick, and was just curious if anyone had some good 800-1200yd kick-sets to help mix it up?
Any kicking is just lost time that could have been spent getting faster at swimming.
That's old school thinking. Becoming a better kicker IS time sent on getting faster at swimming. (Possibly not so important for distance/ow swimmers.)
One doesn't need to spend a huge amt of time/yards on a kick set to gain benefit. Do sets of very fast 25s, 50s, 75s, 100s with plenty of rest and track your progress.
