I want to devote 1-2 days a week doing kick-only main sets, to try and improve my kick, and was just curious if anyone had some good 800-1200yd kick-sets to help mix it up?

I'm hesitant to post in this thread because I hate kicking. I believe masters swimmers spend so little time training, all of it should be hard swimming. Any kicking is just lost time that could have been spent getting faster at swimming.
Anyways, we did a kicking set last week that might pique your interest. Adjust the starting interval as needed so you can make the first one by 8-10 seconds.
100 kick on 1:59
100 kick on 1:58
100 kick on 1:57
Hopefully, readers are picking up on a trend here.
Keep doing 100's kick, dropping the interval by one second each time until you miss one. Sit out that repeat while you put on your fins. Jump back in and keep kicking those 100's with the reducing interval until you miss one. If you're with a group, when the first person needs fins, the interval drops by 2 seconds each time. When you can't make the interval with fins, swim 100 's free until the last kicker can't make the interval.
