Workout to get back in shape?

hi i just joined the forum and i have a question about the proper way to build back up my swimming skills. my friend and i both used to swim competitively throughout high school and some of college at a pretty competitive level, going to state championships and such. we have now both been out of the water for a few years and were wondering if anyone could give some advice on how the best way to get our swimming strength back for possible future competition. and also to get back the correct stroke technique i used to have, but seem to have lost some of over the past few years. any sort of workout ideas or plans would be greatly appreciated. thanks
