Hello and a few basic swimming q's..

Hello. Just need some thoughts of were I'm going here. I started swimming 2 weeks ago. Two days a week 1 mile each day. I'm only looking at swimming to tighten my upper body. Is a mile 2 days a week good enough? Some basics, I'm a runner first. Doing 18-25 miles a week. I already dropped 70 pounds and I'm down to 165, but my upper body is crap. I can't stomach the gym. So I'm looking at swimming for a little cross training and help if I go into Tri. Thanks guys..
