Hi. I'm trying to put together a bit of a program for when I go to the gym. I'm most interested in 400m and 1500m performance but also 200m. I'm looking to find some articles or information with regard to what sort of training to be doing in both dryland cardio fitness and strength work.
I remember reading a while back some material about various workout levels (iirc AN1, AN2, AN3, etc) and how you should be working with that for distance swimming, but I can't find it any more. I've got an appointment with the gym's personal trainer and want to be prepared to explain exactly what I'm looking to get out of my gym training. Can anyone help me? Thanks,
David

USA swimming has a lot of dryland training videos posted on their website and on youtube.

These exercises aren't distance specific but most/all of them would be beneficial for a distance swimmer. You should get all the cardio you need from swimming. You won't get much benefit much from running/biking unless you need to lose weight.
