Crazy MASTERS workouts

I am now swimming with a new team. I think everyone of them is insanely fast. By insanely fast I mean they are either Olympians (true story), former DI NCAA finalist, World Record holders, etc. Not sure how or why they let me in ... perhaps as their entertainment. This was the main set this morning, it is SCY but still ... 4 X (3 x 100 1 @ 1:30, 1 @ 1:10, 1 @ 1:30, 200 free) Round 1 200 Fr @ 2:30 Round 2 200 Fr @ 2:20 Round 3 200 Fr @ 2:10 Round 4 200 Fr @ 2:00 Being nowhere near fast enough to do almost any part of this set AND being a "drop dead" sprinter AND having to get out to get to work on time I missed all of it sans the first 3 100s which were more than enough. I believe at least a couple made the entire set ... I told a teammate I would have needed fins, paddles and prayer to come close ...

That is a pretty damn fast set....the 200's on the last couple rounds at least. I went 1:48.8 in the 200 Free at Nat's in the Spring and I couldn't make that last 200 at 2:00, even the 200 at 2:10 would be a push. Just don't get discouraged. Baby steps. That's not a sprinters set anyway, much more middle distance (200/500).
