Practice short course yards conversion to long course meters
Former Member
I swam on a Houston swim team (Gulf Swimming) until I was 17. Got tired of the whole thing, but now I'm 24 now and have been swimming again for a year (joined a water polo club as well). I train by myself in an indoor pool (short course, yards). Sprinter, freestyle only.
For 50 yards free, without a dive or competition, I can do about 24 seconds. For 100 yards free, 54 seconds. I converted via an online calculator and found that equals >28s in the 50 m free and >1:03 in the 100 m free.
Supposing this is the best I can do in practice, what would my times be for an actual meet? I'd like to find out eventually, but for now an estimate will do.
I suggest you post this under swimming instead of workouts and you will get more replies.I think there is not a good way to convert workout times to meet times as some people are much better at meets and some are only a little better.
