Hi, could anyone give me some hints regarding the best way to do dryland exercises particularly with endurance in freestyle in mind? I was thinking of getting a home gym setup with one of those things where you have a handle you pull down from overhead to simulate the standard freestyle motion with extra resistance. Thanks,

Do you mean a Lat pulldown or a Vasa Trainer. Vasa trainers are great and will REALLY work your lats right at the armpits. However, they aren't cheap unless you find a good used one.
No I've done both of those this is different. What I was looking at is a thing where you've got two handles on wires over head with a pully system so it lifts the plates as you pull down on the handles. I'm not sure of the proper name, but the handles are free to move around on the wires. It just seemed like a motion quite similiar to freestyle pulls would be possible. Thanks,
David
