With a short work week and having eaten too much junk over Christmas its bugging me. SO...I thought that maybe this week I'd just do 100 x 100 outta the blue maybe on Wednesday AM or Thursday AM. I train alone so it will put me to the test just to see if I can focus for 120-180 minutes and stick to it. So I'm looking for some advice on how to break them up. Obviously the first 10-20 will be warm-up, build at most. So I'm thinking something like this....feel free to add/suggest more. I'm just pulling this out of my ass. 1-10 Warm-up @ 2:00 11-20 Kick @ 2:00 21-30 Pull @ 1:30 31-40 Free @ 1:20 (hold 1:10's) 41-50 IM @ 1:45 5-10 Minute Food/Drink Break 51-60 Kick w/ Fins @ 1:40 61-70 Odds: Stroke @ 1:40 Evens: Drill @ 1:40 71-80 Pull w/ Paddles & Snorkel 81-90 IM Order/Free by 25's @ 1:45 and to finish it off: 91-100 Hold Best Avg. @ 1:30

  • So I made it! 2 hrs and 45 min (including a 200 warmdown). I didn't take my scheduled break as I felt good and didn't want to cool down at that point. On 21-60 I pretty much held 1:07-1:10's. I got a bit tired after those, but felt strong the whole way, had good turns, and good streamlines throughout. Ended up finishing with a 1:06 on the last 100. The only real pain I have afterwards is a nice chaff mark on the inside of my right thigh where my squard Speedo endurance rode up a bit too much. I guess I need to get a jammer. Looking back I think it would be a good challenge to do them all on 1:25 or 1:20.....that would give me anywhere from 10-15 seconds rest at most if you can maintain it throughout. Good Job! I wish I was that fast. Mine was more of a 50x100@1:40 holding between 1:30-1:32. Then when the kids came in they did 100x50@1:00 and I did the first 50 of those with fins on and switched up the strokes did 20 as kick, 10 fly, 10 back and 10 more kick.
