With a short work week and having eaten too much junk over Christmas its bugging me. SO...I thought that maybe this week I'd just do 100 x 100 outta the blue maybe on Wednesday AM or Thursday AM. I train alone so it will put me to the test just to see if I can focus for 120-180 minutes and stick to it. So I'm looking for some advice on how to break them up. Obviously the first 10-20 will be warm-up, build at most. So I'm thinking something like this....feel free to add/suggest more. I'm just pulling this out of my ass. 1-10 Warm-up @ 2:00 11-20 Kick @ 2:00 21-30 Pull @ 1:30 31-40 Free @ 1:20 (hold 1:10's) 41-50 IM @ 1:45 5-10 Minute Food/Drink Break 51-60 Kick w/ Fins @ 1:40 61-70 Odds: Stroke @ 1:40 Evens: Drill @ 1:40 71-80 Pull w/ Paddles & Snorkel 81-90 IM Order/Free by 25's @ 1:45 and to finish it off: 91-100 Hold Best Avg. @ 1:30

  • here's something that came out in South Texas News - Sun, Dec 27, 2009 Ring in the New-year with 110 100s – Austin, TX Our New Year's Day swim will be offered at 4-8p 12/31 and 9a-1p on 1/1. The pool is at Bee Caves Road and Patterson Lane. Guest fee is $4. We would be happy to have guests join our swim. We'll be in an 8 lane, outdoor and heated pool. The format is essentially: - Everyone starts at the same time - Each swimmer selects his/her own interval which can be varied - Swimmers may use equipment (fins, snorkels, kick board, pull buoy, paddles, etc.) – just no motors! - Each swimmer counts their own 100's and may have someone on the deck counting for them - The goal is to swim 110 x 100's (last year we did 109). Swimmers may stop at any time but everyone will stop at 4 hours. Last year we had a dozen swimmers participate ranging from non-competitive, lap swimmers to those nationally ranked. It was fun, rewarding and a great way to start out the new year.
