The coached workouts threads seem to be restricted to actual USMS members. Fair enough, I guess, but they've always been the main (possibly only) reason I visited the site.
I got a lot of my workouts (mainly "Distance Free") courtesy of Chris Layton and Scott Hofteizer over the last 2 years or so, and tips from the other coaches. Thanks for making that possible, chaps!
Not really mad...just expressing my grumpy opinion.
A change is not really what you are looking for as my point was that other sports like triathlon charge you a heavy price for every piece of information and every piece of technology. Masters swimming is a bargain. I can enter 11 events and swim for a whole weekend for 30-40 dollars at a local meet. Contrast that with 75 to over 500 dollars for a triathlon.
Masters swimming has been the exception to the rule. These workouts have been posted free of charge for many years. I believe it may be an effort for the powers that be to make the membership feel there is more value to be a member.
I applaud those that give free advice (and I give more than my fair share), but it should not be, in my humble opinion, an expectation.:bighug:
