Fun and fast is closed how come??? Is it another dicarded forum thread or did Jonathon close it???
  • "Fun, and Fast" lasted a year, October 2, 2007, to October 2, 2008. I think JMiller closed that thread and some others. I am very, very sorry if he has left.
  • It was kind of strange, with no parting explanation given.
  • One can surmise something, from the public debate over Ande's workout thread and the constant references to "Fun, and Fast." It was kind of strange, with no parting explanation given. Good-bye, Jonathan! Good-bye, Ande! Thanks for your contributions!

Don't know. I was looking at it yesterday and tried the set out last night (3 of each stroke for a total of 12). I didn't really feel it until the last two, but maybe that's because of the stroke changes. I'm going to try half free and half SDK on Saturday.
  • One can surmise something, from the public debate over Ande's workout thread and the constant references to "Fun, and Fast." Perhaps. Or there may have been a separate disagreement. In either event, I recall Jonathan saying the forum "meant a lot to him." If so, inexplicably decamping and closing the thread seems a bit extreme. It was a very popular thread with great workout ideas. I wish it hadn't been closed. Maybe a new one can be started. And, yes, both of them made great contributions and I hope they will be back. Or I'll be begging Geek for workout ideas. (Seriously, the closure of the two threads is unfortunate for us self-coached swimmers.)
  • If Jonathan closed it, can't the powers that be re-open it so others can continue posting?
  • If Jonathan closed it, can't the powers that be re-open it so others can continue posting? Take a look at the first page of his thread. Or the last. (Department of further explanation: most of Jonathan's workout posts at beginning and end of the thread are gone, so there is no focal point for subsequent discussion. A thread for "shorter workouts" would be useful, especially high-quality, low-volume workouts.) Regards, VB

(Seriously, the closure of the two threads is unfortunate for us self-coached swimmers.) Fort, remember, the powers that govern this board know what is best for us...so we must bow to their wishes and have to do extra clicking and peckign in "blog" section to find anything related to either thread. A great idea would have been to....leave ande, jonathon's, and anyone else thread alone and let it be posted..om gosh...in a discussion thread on a discussion forum. Last time I checked, people did discuss things in those threads...but who I am to judge the all knowing and powerful board rulers of this tiny kingdom. :2cents:

It would be a shame if all blog type threads disappeared that would almost end the workout portion of USMS. Master swimmers would soon have to go off site to get their workouts. To me it would not matter I plan all of my workouts. Most workouts in the workout thread are too hard for most of us.

May be the big wiggs asked him to move it and he did not want to. Did you not notice the desiders have not posted anything about this.
