I just recently picked up swiming to trying and get in shape, I'm swimming 2-3 times a week normally and 1 run per week. I've read in a lot of threads the importance of stomach strength.
Does anyone have any reccomendations on getting rid of love handles and lower belly baby fat?

That's one way to go (or let go) as Ande suggests (not so much tongue-in-cheek), or ..............
One cannot target a specific area to get rid of the fat in that area.
You can target specific muscles/muscle groups.
Any exercice that gets rid of fat (helps make you expend---burn--- more calories than you're taking---eating--- in) helps, but your body will "decide" which fat it will use up first. Unfortunately (for some), the love handles area is the last one that will be used by the body to burn fat from.
