Hey guys!
I'm Brooke. Next year I would like to join my schools swim team. I have swam before when I was younger and so I have experience with swimming on a team. Right now I'm trying to get back into shape and begin swimming. I have a busy schedule with homework and cheerleading practice but, I'm trying hard to find time to workout.
I plan to do one type of cardio each day (or two if I have the time) which consists of either 20 minutes on the stairmaster, 30 minutes on the eliptical machine, running for 20 minutes on a treadmill, or swimming for 45 minutes in an indoor pool. For strength training I will be doing weight machines, or body excerises such as crunches, lunges, etc.
Does anyone have any other suggestions on my dry land workouts or cardio? Any suggestions or excerises that you have found effective will be helpful!! Thanks so much!
XOXO,
Brooke

it really depends on how far you want to take swimming, are you looking for serious competition? or just as a means of getting in shape? you probably want to look at about 1-2 hours of water time, your body will adjust, your body works differently for each sport. A good dryland excercise if you can get them is stretch chords.
