how many times...do you?
50 meter: I dont even kick, and almost no breath (just get crazy)
100 meter: Some kick, and I breath every 2 strokes
200 meter: A lot of kick, and I breath almost every stroke
I never breath the last stroke before the wall, and also the first stroke after kicking the wall is no-breathing.
There are lots of secrets that makes fly faster.
-technique (mostly hands and head position)
-cordination (breathing, pushing, kicking)
-muscle (trainning)
Suggestions? experiences? ideas?
I need help, im reallyyyy slow
200 im = 2.20'
200 fly =

Everyone is different on their breathing do what works best for you. For me, I really dont race 50's but if I did probably would be one breath per lap. On the 100's I breath every 4 strokes and 6 kicks off every turn and do not breath out of turn. On the 200 fly I breath every 3rd stroke and again 6 kicks off each turn not breathing out of it.
I do not know what your fly stamina is but be sure you are not doing "garbage" yards. Work on technique and drills and do lots of kicking. On 100's I normally do 50 fly, 25 free, 25 fly. 200's I would do 75 fly 25 free, 75 fly and 25 free. My favorite is the 300. 100 fly, 100 free then 100 fly the second 100fly I try and go faster than first 100 and also the free is not a loaf.
Verticle kicking in deep end with a medicine ball is always good. I really do not use fins much especially if its fast swim with fins. Seems to throw off my timing, however, when allowed, will do just kicking with fins which I mix up some underwater on my stomach and some on the back.
Where abouts in Ohio are you and what team are you training with?
