It's been years

Hello all. I swam competitively for many years and played water polo but that's been about 15+ years ago. Tonight I swim again for the first time. I plan to do what I can and see how it goes. Does anyone have any info on the terminology used for the workouts/sets in some of the examples? I ask because when I used to swim the coach would put the workouts on the board and I knew what it all meant then but don't recall everything. I know what a 100, 200, etc. is but am looking for some clarification. Thanks.

    Thanks for everyone's responses. I swam for 40 minutes on Wed and plan to go again today after work. It felt good to be back but I am so out of shape. I didn't count laps but just focused on swimming and seeing where I stood. I look forward to getting back into shape. It'll be challenging coming up with workouts, timing, etc. since when I swam in the past I had a coach but I did find out there's a local team I can join so when I'm ready I'll do that.
