Weak Side

I am right handed. If I throw a ball, write my name, or dice an onion with my left hand, I am simply not as efficient compared with doing those same tasks with my right hand. I think most of us share this fact (although you lefties have the opposite affliction). After 20 years of tweaking my crawl stoke, I just recently began to pay attention to the fact that I simply don't have the same dexterity with sculling and pull motions with my left arm/hand as I do on my right. When I really concentrate, I can tell that I have a much better feel for the water with my right hand. The differences are subtle, and mostly in my hands. They include finger separation distance, the angle at which the hand is both placed in the water and pulled through it, and the severity of sculling motions. Has anyone ever tried increasing the dexterity of their "off" or "weak" side in order to gain whole stroke efficiency through intensive dexterity training on the weak side? I'm thinking of out of the pool exercises like juggling or some other weak side dexterity improving technique? Thanks, Hopper http://www.swimvacation.com
