Back in the pool after serious illness and injury, work outs needed!
Former Member
I am finally getting back to the pool tomorrow morning for the first time after a near 3-month illness/injury. I have spent some time in the hospital for very serious flu and back and hip injuries, but I am almost fully recovered. Before I hurt myself, I had been swimming 6 days a week plus weights and cardio.
I would like to know some easy, not-too-intense workouts maybe for the first couple weeks of my returning to the pool. I am planning to work on my distance freestyle this summer in a 50 meter pool, and hopefully to try open water some time soon. But I also don't wanna rush it or push my body too hard so it backfires on me.
Any suggestions and advices are greatly appreciated!

In 1997 I had 6 operations. the most major was to have my colon removed. I spent he entire month of June in the hospital that year. when I got he okay to swim, I still had my illeostomy bag. While I was in the hospital, I did push-up, sit-up and other things I could do. when I got tot he pool, It was wonderful. Everyone told me to do the aquacise instead of laps. I didn't listen. Five days later I had to have another operation. My stoma had moved. No one knew if it was because of me swimmign or not. the surgeon didn't think so. He is also a swimmer.
Anyway, I hope it goes well!
