Hey, I'm looking for a starting level workout that would let me teach my group how to be faster. The challenge here is that they are all middle aged (avg of 45-50yrs old and 1yr swimming) and I recently got them so it's not like I coached them. Also, I can't tell them to do one of the workouts I would usually give someone (much) younger because, I feel, that would be too much for them.
Their avg time for 100yrds is 60" and I'd like to take them to at least 55".
I would apreciate any advice/ideas/suggestions.

Are you sure you mean 60 seconds for 100 yards? If they're in their late 40's and started a year ago and doing a minute flat for 100 yards, I'd like to know what they've been doing this past year!
