Distance training workout?

Normally whenever we practice all of our team does the same workout. Although isn't it profitable for distance swimmers to workout differently than the rest of the swimmers? An example would be. Main Set: 8 x 200 on 2:30 10 x 100 on the 1:30 10 x 50 on the :45 Adapted for Distance: 8 x 200 on 2:20 10 x 100 on 1:20 10 x 50 on :40 I hope this was the correct forum to place my query :) Input appreciated.
