So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:

+1! Congratulations on your continued progress, Skuj. Keep up the good work, and don't get discouraged if your times plateau at points during your training. :cheerleader:
Indeed! Thanks ElaineK.
I mean, last week was PRs galore. When I walked down the street, PRs fell out of my pockets!!
Then this week I had a couple of meh sessions. I thought "There will be peaks, valleys, and walls. Have patience."
Then today I took 12sec off my previous 800m PR, with a 13:20. :)
My swim happy is finally getting back under :44 on the 50 breaststroke with a 43.82 at the National Senior Games, my best time since 2014. Then, in yesterday's Mixed Medley Relay, I dropped it to 43.67 after a slow start. (I wanted to make sure I didn't DQ our relay team, so I waited until the backstroker touched the wall before I started to go. No rolling start on this one!) Our team ended up with bronze medals in both the mixed and free relays. Thanks to our freestyler coming from way behind to mow down our competition in the neighboring lane, he touched him out by .08 for a bronze medal. Three bronze medals and two ribbons (5th in 100 fly, my fastest time since 2016 & 6th in 400 IM) at my first National Senior Games! :wiggle:

Damn!!!
Ooooops!! Sorry.
Anyway, today I celebrated 4 months since SRD (Swimming Realization Day) with a thrilling new PR at 100m: 1:24 (down from 1:26 a couple of weeks ago).
Congratulations Elaine:roids:
Thanks, Rob! :chug: Will I see you at UGA? I hate to miss the open water, but my body is telling me I need to choose between Saturday and Sunday's meet rather than doing both like I would have done in the past. :cane:
EDIT: I just saw on the Georgia Masters Facebook page that Sunday's meet was canceled. :badday:Darn! I really wanted to do a long course meet and get in a 200 fly and 400 IM. I was going to sign up for it over the weekend. Oh well... It looks like I WILL see you at Lake Acworth after all!

It's been quite a while since I did my Sunday Morning 1600m Slog. My old PR of 28:48 was surely going to come crashing down today.
27:41 felt happy and tempoey. (25:59 at 1500m).
I need to do this session more often.
