So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
I couldn't get a really good picture of the duck festooned office I mentioned above, but here is a little bit of the be-ducked ceiling. Yesterday they had ducks going around the ledges as well.

Yeah....I got mine this week too. Good thing I just cleared 200 miles, and just got my 50 mile cap! :)
Yeah. I keep getting asked about mine "Is that from a 50 mile race? or is that a year to date?" To which I reply 'it's year to date... however I've actually done more than twice that much this year.'
Despite getting DQ'd from my BR race at the zone meet, I did great in my other races! I dropped about 2.5sec off my 50 FR and 6 sec off my 50 Fly!
Great job! What did you get DQ'd for???
Not sure... they didn't tell me. I think it was likely my start. I posted about it on the Breaststroke Lane.
Congrats on your swim! I love getting in the water and feeling fast after a good rest. :)

Had a swim happy last night... I had taken 3 days off Sat/sun/monday and gotten a massage on monday night. So when I went to the pool last nigh I ddn't expect much... But the rest of the massage must have worked. I felt like I was flying! Push off 25's of br at 17-18. (usually 19-20). Pull 25's of fr at 14-15... I think the tapering for next weeks State meet is working!!
I have swim goggles. Lots of swim goggles. Yesterday, at one of the pools at which I swim, one of the older male kids (15 y/o) asked about my goggles. (I had four pair with me.) The pool is in an economically disadvantaged area, so the young adults here are not that well off. The young man is on the swim team and water polo team, but does not own any swim goggles. I gave him two pair, and told him not to worry about it. Felt good to do this little thing for him.
