So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week. Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:

  • In spite of being restricted from swimming at all until the surgeon's say-so, I'm happy to have had my discectomy on Friday, because it'll mean (eventually) swimming without pain during or after. Best wishes for a speed recovery, 'Badger! I had a laminectomy & discectomy of L5S1 back in 1987 when I was only 25 years old. It was 100% successful, and I have never had a problem with my back since. Here's the key: DO EVERYTHING YOUR PHYSICAL THERAPIST TELLS YOU TO DO! Then, after you are released from PT, keep on doing the exercises for the rest of your life. Seriously. I practice what I preach!
