So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week. Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:

I'm new to Masters swimming. Started swimming on my own back in the fall, since it's easier on the joints and my pocketbook than my previous sport, figure skating. Took an Adult Learn to Swim class to improve my stroke and that's where I learned about rotary breathing. That is wonderful news, swimming 100m without being winded and how cool you're new to the sport! I know a lot of people who didn't start to swim until their 50s or later and their enthusiasm is contagious. And fwiw, though I swam in high school and college I took 33 years off and didn't return until last fall. I feel very much like a new person most days because things have changed a lot in all four strokes. Feeling like a total beginner again is to me a huge blessing. I get to learn new things, have fun, and enjoy it a lot more than I usually did when I was younger.
