Swim happy

So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week. Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:

Bumping a thread because we could all use more happy. I've been swimming at the lake on their course (2 laps = roughly 550yds) and finally timed myself for a cool 12:21:60, which isn't going to blister any paint but was nearly two full seconds off my fastest 500yd pool time when I timed it last year. My endurance is improving. At the lake I could swim a mile (6.3 laps) in an hour, in sets of 2 laps + 1 cool down. (7 total). Hope to be able to swim a mile in one full go by next summer. Today I decided to try a flip turn for the first time in 20 years and after 20 minutes of working at it, nearly have all the pieces in order. Clumsily, but not too bad for having not done it at all in so long. I hope to improve my 50 meter/yard times enough to feel comfortable maybe even entering a meet in the coming year.
