So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
My husband and I spent the last two weeks in Laguna Beach, Florida, and I swam daily at the Panama City Beach Aquatic Center. FABULOUS! The facility was well-maintained, the water temperature ranged from 79-81, and I always had my own lane. In the early mornings and on weekends, the 50 meter pool was set up for long course (WooHOO!) and at 10:00 on weekdays, it was short course for the remainder of the day. I was even able to practice fly and free race starts for the first time since my hip surgery. (Still too soon for backstroke and breaststroke starts.)
Kudos to the staff and lifeguards for doing a great job and making my training experience at your pool and enjoyable one. :applaud:
Elaine, I'm happy for you!!! I'm glad your healing is going well, plus nothing beats swimming outside in Florida!!! Keep up the great work!
