So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
Thanks! I'm really excited to work toward being a Butternut. I did a 4x50 (technically a 4x60m as it's a longer pool) fly last week and it was HARD. But I was glad that by the 4th repeat, it was actually a little easier. I'm thinking I'll build that until I can do an 8x50 and then start working on 100s. :)
Can you get somebody to video your fly, upload it to YouTube, and then post it on The Butterfly Lane? Getting early feedback on your stroke would help cut down the learning curve and improvement time. For me, I may be able to swim a ton of continuous fly, but, it's slow, due to stroke flaws. I have been working on those flaws and had a fly-only coaching session yesterday to try to work out those kinks. (It's a work in progress...) Coaching really helps!
If you don't have a coach, The Butterfly Lane would be your next best bet to improving your fly. That Guy, Jaadams, and Swimosaur are three Forumites on that thread who are quite good at helping flyers. :agree:
