So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
So, my other future goal is to be able to swim a legal 200 butterFLY ...
Awesome!!!
I want to share a story. A couple of years ago, when I started swimming with the Knoxville team, I met Bill Lauer, who is now 77 years old (and won 4 events at Greensboro). At 77, Bill is still one of those tough guys who swims the 4 IM and 2 fly. He's also a very great gentleman and I'm honored to know him.
So when I met him, I was like, what? This dude is 25 years older than me and he can swim the 2 fly, and I can't? Daaaaammmmnnnnn ..... that's a challenge. It took me a year to do the 4 IM, and another to do the 2 fly, but now I can do them. I swam the 4 IM at Greensboro, and will do the 2 fly at nats ... someday. Thanks, Bill!!!
You can do it too!
