So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
My swim happy is a little belated. I had a reasonably good 800 SCM at the New England Championships in December. I watched the rankings, and somewhere along the line saw I was bumped to 11th. Fast forward, and while just checking out teammates in the top ten, I saw I was actually tenth for the 800 SCM in 2011! (I have no idea what happened to bring me down into the top ten group!). Granted it's easier to get top ten in SCM, but it's my first on my swimming comeback after a 25 year layoff. I'd like to thank everybody who is really faster than me and doesn't have access to a 25 meter pool!
My real swim happy is that my first year I set my sights on breaking the top 100, and slowly got down to where I thought I might break the top thirty in a couple of events. I am very happy with how the comeback has gone, and stunned to find I have more than a couple swims in the top twenty.
