So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
I haven't had much to swim happy about the past year or two. I've been struggling to heal/adapt to/work around a couple shoulder issues. I didn't pass the 50-mile GTD milestone until August.
Anyway, after taking off essentially April through mid-August, I got back in the pool at the local YMCA, just to do what I could. Lots of kicking, some drills, very little swimming or pulling. I concluded I should be able to make the 100-mile GTD goal by the end of the year. It will be close.
Yesterday I swam a reasonable set (8x50, 4x75, 2x100, 1x200), all backstroke. (At the moment, backstroke is the stroke which isn't causing problems.) Today my shoulders feel good.
That's my "swim happy" story and I'm stickin' to it. :D
