So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
Yesterday I visited the gym and found that they no longer offer Noodle Class! O Frabjous Day!!
I've avoided evening swims after Noodle Class since the participants linger chatting in the lanes, pool water was cloudy and the smell of shampoo/cologne was overwhelming. The pool was closed for lap swimmers during the class -- a very desirable timeslot -- right when I would normally be riding my bicycle and would want a foul weather alternate activity.
The last time I was at the gym during noodle class, there were about 50 participants who did not appear to be capable of more strenuous activity. Elderly, disabled/rehabbing injury, out of shape/overweight. I don't want to disrespect them, they were getting some benefit from the class. I got the impression that participation dwindled, so I wonder if the class will be offered again in the New Year's Resolution rush.
