So we have a "swim rant" thread, but I wanted to post my "swim happy" moment today, probably brought on by being out of the water for over a week.
Pool reopened after maintenance + clear, fresh perfect temp water + 6 lap lanes between 4 lap swimmers = 4200yd :bliss:
Last night was the first time I've ever been pleasantly surprised by my time in a competition. I swam an open water 1500m in 22:47. A bazillion times faster than I would have thought possible. Almost nine minutes faster than I swam the same course two weeks ago.
I don't even think of people who swim that fast as being the same species as I am.
Trying to savor the moment...There aren't enough minutes left in that time to ever make another leap like that.
