Butterfly, beautiful to watch, difficult to train.
We SDK off every wall.
We're most likely to smack hands with each other and those beside us.
Fly's fun to sprint but no fun when the piano comes down

Now look at what you've done, Elaine.

Yeahhhh; I've helped turn us all into a bunch of Butternuts! :groovy: Hey, don't forget to check them out here: www.grinswim.org/.../butternuts.html
How do you submit an update to that page? To me, it's not obvious.
You're right; it's not obvious at all! I just sent Doug Church an email with the information and he updated my profile on the site. You can write to him at: dchurch@cchalaw.com
Enjoy your holidays, Swimosaur! :chug:
A 1000 fly challenge has been posted by our morning workout group as well before the end of the year. I guess I know what I will be doing as part of my Sunday long swim. I did a 500 fly as part of a morning workout last week just to get my head ready. I am not sure if it was a wise idea or not! Congrats to all who responded to the challenge.
I took up the challenge today for 1000yds fly, and here is what I did:
- 500 fly (8:03),
- guzzled some water and stretched out until the next top and
- 500 fly (7:59)
(I did mostly DPS fly, with a lap or two of take a stroke and dolphin kick to the other end)
I have not done more than a 200 fly continuous in practice (or meet), so this was a best for me. I don't think it qualifies as meeting the challenge (due to the mini-break halfway through:blush:), but I am really excited about doing that much fly all at once. I was going to bag it at the 250, then figured I was halfway to 500. Then I had the time to keep going and decided to do just that, and ticked off 50's until I was done.

Great job on the 1000 fly challenge guys! Your efforts have inspired me to NOT swim butterfly in the snow, despite being challenged to do so 3 times now between here and Facebook. :dunno:

Congratulations on your 500! :applaud: You now qualify as a Butternut, if you so desire : www.grinswim.org/.../butternuts.html And, now that you know you can do 500, I know you can do 1000! Believe it or not, it actually gets easier; especially if you are distance swimmer, as I read in your profile. I negative split my 1000 and I'll bet you do, too; especially if you take it out slow and relaxed- and, save your legs!
Good luck! :cheerleader:

Way to go, rx! You hung in there and didn't give up! Were you saying, "I hate Elaine. I hate Elaine. I hate Elaine.", as Peter was during his 1000? :D Give yourself a big :applaud: for soldiering on!
