The Butterfly Lane

Butterfly, beautiful to watch, difficult to train. We SDK off every wall. We're most likely to smack hands with each other and those beside us. Fly's fun to sprint but no fun when the piano comes down What did you do in practice today? the breastroke lane The Middle Distance Lane The Backstroke Lane The Butterfly Lane The SDK Lane The Taper Lane The Distance Lane The IM Lane The Sprint Free Lane The Pool Deck

  • That's a great video series! Can anyone suggest a good drill that will help me eliminate the pause at the beginning of my pull? This may sound strange but focus on the last part of your pull and exit, that will cary the momentum forward, If you slow down at the end of your stoke and exit slowly your body starts to sink making it harder to grab and go on the front end. I had the same problem and worked on it during races this weekend. first event 500 fly, then 50 fly, then 200 fly, 100 fly, 200 fly again during 200 free My second 200 fly was faster then my first one. I am sure that it was because I was focusing on the last part of my stroke and the exit.. (and getting my head down quickly) Try this and let me know how it works, After your warm up swim 4 x 100 fly with a 30 second rest, swim normal for the first two, then do what I suggested... Butterfly is Not a Crime..
