Butterfly, beautiful to watch, difficult to train.
We SDK off every wall.
We're most likely to smack hands with each other and those beside us.
Fly's fun to sprint but no fun when the piano comes down
What did you do in practice today?
the breastroke lane
The Middle Distance Lane
The Backstroke Lane
The Butterfly Lane
The SDK Lane
The Taper Lane

I am wondering what is a good strategy for 100 fly SCY in terms of number of underwater dolphin kicks off of the walls? I currently to 3 once I feel my glide from push off slowing. A fellow swimmer thinks a higher number is better. Thoughts?
There is no good number for everyone. It depends on how good your SDK is ,how much you practice SDK,and how good your breath control is.If you have a lousy SDK and have practiced it enough to know that it is not likely to improve, then 2-3 is a good number. If your SDK is faster than your surface swimming, then you want to get as close to the 15M mark as possible underwater,or at least as far as you can without the O2 debt compromising your swimming. The only way to know what is best for you is practice at race pace getting times with each number of kicks.Even then,if you practice doing SDKs and get better, then you will be able to do more and go faster.
