Butterfly, beautiful to watch, difficult to train.
We SDK off every wall.
We're most likely to smack hands with each other and those beside us.
Fly's fun to sprint but no fun when the piano comes down
What did you do in practice today?
the breastroke lane
The Middle Distance Lane
The Backstroke Lane
The Butterfly Lane
The SDK Lane
The Taper Lane
The Distance Lane
The IM Lane
The Sprint Free Lane
The Pool Deck
Thanks Elaine!
What I'm having trouble with is figuring out where the timing is off...and how to fix it. I think it's off from a pause in the front but I'm not sure...I have trouble getting the pull initiated sooner...can you tell where my timing is off??
It seems like your second kick (when you recover your arms) is delayed, so that your down kick happens too close to when your arms re-enter the water. Ande, is this correct?
Check out this video for comparison: http://youtu.be/qI8i3_7Tqtw
Edit: John, I have watched your video several times and I'm trying to figure it out... Perhaps it's the too-bent knees, especially on that second kick, that makes it appear to me that the timing is off; like they are occuring too close together. And, the too-bent knees are causing your hips to drop and ride too low in the water.
Hey, flyers, help me out here. Am I on the right track?
Thanks Elaine!
