Unfortunately, I don't have the option of choosing whatever goggles I like. I have a narrow face, and the only goggles that fit me correctly are Tyr Petite Femme T-72's.
For workout I use the Sporti Antifog. Inexpensive, long lasting and fits me well.
For competition the Vanquisher II
I swim mostly open water ocean (NJ and FL) and bay (NY). My favorite goggles are the aquasphere kayenne goggles. These goggles provide great visability and are good in getting through the surf and for sighting.
To keep these (and any goggles) from fogging up - I use a little dap of Baby Shampoo in each lens and simple wash out with fresh water and the goggles are ready to go for a no-fog swim.
Well, since you’re talking about goggles for pool AND open water, I thought I’d bring this up. I do a fair amount of swimming in both pool and open water. I used the same brand/style goggles for both (actually it’s a single piece “sport mask” I guess). It’s the Aqua Sphere Vista. About 3-4 years ago the one pair I had broke. I used that one pair in both the pool AND open water. But, since I keep separate swim bags — one for the pool, and one for the open water, I figured I’d order two masks at the same time…one for each bag. After about a year or so, I noticed something odd about the two masks. See the picture attached. Surprisingly (to me anyway), the one on the LEFT was the one in my pool bag. I would have thought just the opposite would happen…that the chlorine would keep the silicone clean and clear, and that gunk in the open water would discolor the silicone. I posted this in my local swim group Facebook page. The best response I got was “I think you have just proved pool swimming is crappier than open water swimming.” — Dan
I have not ventured open water, but pool swimming I really like my Arena Cobra Ultra Swipes.
I have been using the same goggles for almost 40 years now. While they don't look like sleek, new, modern goggles, they fit me perfectly. Speedo Sprint. Smoke color for open water in the sun, blue for clouds, and clear for indoors. This is the one item in my bag that I simply won't go without...
AquaSphere's Kayenne are my favorite OW goggles.
