Best places to open water swim in Fort Lauderdale?

Hi, I'll be visiting Fort Lauderdale soon and see that the water temps look great. Is swimming in the ocean pretty common there? Any recommendations on best places to do some open water swimming? Thanks!

When I was there, it was just walk to the ocean and swim.
Thanks for the tips. I think I'll just try this. Maybe at Lauderdale-by-the-sea.
