Hello Open Water Enthusiasts! :bouncing::bouncing:
With the start of the open water swim season (depending on where you live!) the USMS Open Water committee encourages you to consider nominating individuals for the 2017 USMS Open Water Service Award. Perhaps there is someone in your LMSC or zone who meets the qualifications? If you participate in open water events, maybe there is a race director or referee or another individual who has done a super job in helping run a quality event? It is not too early to start thinking about recognition for that person who has made significant contributions for the advancement of USMS open water swimming events.
Here are the qualifications for nominees:
The USMS Open Water Service Award honors individuals who have made significant service contributions to promote and build excellence in USMS open water swimming.Areas of service include:
·Support of the USMS mission, vision, goals, and objectives through notable open water swimming service in several roles (i.e., USMS Open Water/Long Distance national committees, LMSC open water/long distance chair, event and/or safety director, official, coach, clinician, and/or volunteer);
·contribution to open water notably at different levels of USMS (i.e. national, zone, LMSC, and/or local);
·or demonstration of extraordinary measurable service, achievement and impact.
The nomination form is attached (hopefully), but may also be found on the USMS website -- volunteers -- awards.
The deadline is July 1, 2017.
Happy Spring! :ohyeah:
