  • Kurt and Matt, thank you for your very kind words! Flyswims, I have posted information about our cable swims on our team website. I invite you to visit www.comaswim.org/fosterlake /about.html for a good look at how we run them. Kurt has spoken truly about the course. When I designed and COMA built it in 2011, my goal was to have the finest cable course in the nation, meeting all the best design characteristics and surpassing all of the standards in the rules while holding true to the concept of a surface cable. And he's right about the beautiful lake--we would welcome you to retire near there! Matt has spoken truly about water temperature at this site--it varies a lot , depending on the winter snowfall, the rate of snow melt, the amount of water that the Corps of Engineers passes through the two-dam system to maintain water levels & flow in the rivers downstream, and the amount of sunlight on the lake in the two weeks before the swim. It has been as low as 65 and as high as 71 on our weekend in late June. Although I don't get to swim in this event much (as you might imagine, I'm usually occupied otherwise), I really like to swim on this course.
