On August 18th the "Endless Summer 5k and 1 Mile Swim" will take place in Lake Monocan, which is located inside Wintergreen Resort in Virginia. There is also a 500 meter swim for children 12 & under. The event is benefitting the Fran Crippen Elevation Foundation, ( http://francrippen.org/ ), a safety clinic for children about open water swimming will happen right before their 500 meter swim.
