The Howdy Honda Cap 2K is an excellent destination open water swim in Austin, TX. The weekend is manageable without a rental car and Austin is a Southwest Airlines carrier destination... personally I am not a big fan of SWA however it can be relatively cheap if your flight is direct. The Cap 2K is hosted by Sandy and Keith Bell of American Swimming Association.
