Hundreds ring in 2013 with icy plunge in NY waters
"NEW YORK (AP) — Hundreds of hardy swimmers rang in 2013 with a plunge into the icy sea off Brooklyn's Coney Island, an area struggling to recover from Superstorm Sandy."
It says this is annual, but I had never heard of it, nor the Ice Breakers and the Coney Island Polar Bear clubs. I only know about the CIBBOWS. Are those generic amateur water players? :cool:
Edit: this should belong to the Non-Swimming Related forum, as from the videos no one was actually swimming (and the water quality looks awful). If the mod can move it over, please.
