I’m pleased to announce that we will be opening up registration to 2 person relays for 2013... the third annual 8 Bridges Hudson River Swim.
Two categories will be offered:
COMPETITIVE RELAYS will alternate by the hour. An official observer will be assigned to insure that a legal exchange is made. If said relay enters 2 or more consecutive stages, they must alternate the lead-off swimmer each day.
NON-COMPETITIVE RELAYS may alternate swimmers at will. They may also swim together as long as it is safe to do so. (meaning they can pace well together and stay within 5 yards of each other... other restrictions may apply)
We hope to have registration open by 1/1/13 (if the world doesn’t end in December)

Stage 7 is the most complicated and most expensive day of 8 Bridges. As of today, we don’t have enough commited swimmers to include Stage 7 in this years event.
If there is anyone out there waiting for the last minute... it has arrived and past.
Message me or email dvdbarra@yahoo.com if you would like to swim it on June 22.
We need a minimum of 5 participants. The current predictions are strong for this day, it should be fast.
There is an outrigger canoe race also taking place in the NY Harbor that day... we will be crossing paths with some of the racers.
I hope you get the swimmers! It was fascinating to follow each day's swim in cyberspace and read Rondi's (?) daily posts last year.
(Sadly, I do not swim 3 mph, or anything like it.)

Recommended Pace for Stage 7 is: 33 mins per mile
A few 7 stage swimmers have had to cancel this year... thats life. We hope they will join us in the future!
